Traditional retro glazing by removing the existing glass and installing a new double glazed panel. The most common of windows that you will find on most older character homes is the standard casement window that has stood the test of time for design and function. EVS has copied these features in its replacement insert panel to maintain the similar look and feel.

The EVS Triple Insert panel has been the result of an evolutionary process that began with finding ways to improve the thermal performance of windows and doors in older homes. Retro glazing by replacing the single glass panel with a insulated double glazed panel was the first approach. This did an excellent job of retaining the original look and feel, but was costly, time consuming, messy and still required a lot of ongoing maintenance. Thus was born the EVS clip-on panel. This transformed the old windows into triple glazed, high performance windows. However, in many cases the old timber was tired and still needed replaced. So EVS blended the design of traditional windows with its triple glazing frame and draught seal technology to produce a super durable high performance window that compliments and fits older character homes. The next step is to bring the EVS Glazing system to new build homes and exceed the new building standards with super insulated panels.
Many sliding sash windows are part of a set of windows and do not require opening functions. This keeps the costs down and increases their protection against draughts. The replacement inserts
may use the existing frame or can be fitted to a new sub frame.
Most glaziers fix the top panel closed to allow for enough space for double weights. The unique EVS solution is a pully mechanism that allows for both windows to counterbalance each other and open and close simultaneously. This provides high ventilation and good airflow.
An EVS awning option allows for a traditional sliding sash window to retain character features but simplifies the process of opening the top panel. This provides better air flow as well as a superior draught seal. The character horns are retained to preserve the unique heritage design.
